The Possession Arc explores Hazel’s tragic death and battle with Lucina.

“Love is Fragile like a Paper Heart” is the first part of Hazel's arc to defeat Lucina of Wisdom. The chapter explores Hazel Hoon’s life after the tragic death of her boyfriend, Jun, during a high school physics experiment involving orichalcum. Grieving deeply, Hazel begins to experience Jun’s spiritual presence where an ethereal yet vivid manifestation of him appears by her side. Bound by cosmic energy, Jun becomes her ghostly protector and companion.

Paige Pastel, an ambitious writer previously experimented on by Anateros senses cosmic energy in her city, thus investigating Hazel and wanting her power, thinking it can further enhance her writing. Hazel fends Paige off with her own weapon, trapping her in a custom dimension before breaking the weapon.

The second part, “A Controlling Confession” continues Hazel’s character. While she is still dealing with the recent losses and isolating herself at school, Jun, her ghost boyfriend, resides peacefully in her body and can manifest to comfort her.

A charming new student named Liam befriends Hazel and offers to give her a tattoo of a rose on her shoulder. Despite Jun's warnings that something feels suspicious about Liam, Hazel grows close to him and treasures the tattoo. The "tattoo" begins controlling Hazel's body. When she's alone on the school roof, Liam reveals his true identity, he's actually Lucina, a powerful supernatural being called a Jespan Lord who has been disguised as a male student. The rose marking is a control symbol that allows Lucina to manipulate Hazel like a puppet.

Lucina attempts to kill Hazel, claiming that Hazel and Jun's existence is tearing apart the universe and causing cosmic imbalance. As Hazel dies from strangulation, Jun uses his remaining ghostly power to possess her body. In a final battle, Jun who controls Hazel's dead body, defeats Lucina by exploiting her weakness. she can only control living beings, but Jun as a ghost can possess Hazel. Both Hazel and Jun die together, bound by love. Officials from the ISID arrive to clean up, cremating Lucina's body to restore cosmic balance, though they realize this marks the beginning of a larger supernatural threat.
